Things to do in Málaga: tours and activities

Málaga packs a Moorish fortress, a Roman theatre, Picasso's birthplace and a beach ten minutes' walk away into a handful of streets. It's also the best base for exploring the rest of the province.

Hand-picked experiences

The historic centre is best explored on foot: from the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro castle, with the best views over the bay, you walk down to the Roman Theatre, the cathedral and the streets leading to the Picasso Museum and the Atarazanas market. A guided visit helps make sense of how centuries of history fit into so little space.

Beyond the old town you'll find Muelle Uno and the Centre Pompidou by the port, the Soho district and its street art, and La Malagueta beach. At sunset, a boat trip around the bay is one of the most rewarding plans.

Almost every day trip in the province leaves from Málaga: Ronda and the white villages, the Caminito del Rey, Nerja and Frigiliana, Antequera or the Costa del Sol.
